Minutes from General Boosters Club Meeting

May 12th, 2008

Election of President

Motion was made by Pam Johnston and seconded by Hope Barnhardt to accept the nomination of Libby Wikle as our CCGBC President. It was a unanimous vote to elect Libby as president.

Anne Dehlin has replaced Libby as Boys Team Rep.

Handbook

  • Handbooks were distributed and discussed. Special thanks to Jan Wauters for putting it together for us.
  • If you were unable to attend the meeting, a handbook was placed in your folder.
  • Special mention: General Booster Club meetings are held the 2nd Monday every month at 6:30pm. You get 1/2 hour of volunteer credit just for attending this monthly meeting.
  • Considerable conversation was given concerning volunteer hours. Special note was made that ALL booster members must work at each meet hosted by CCG, regardless if you have a gymnast competing or not.
  • The additional Parent and Athlete Contract placed in the handbook is to be signed by the end of May and placed in Libby Wikle’s Folder.
  • Booster Club payments are placed in Jan Wauters folder.
  • Any corrections to the roster can be emailed to Latta Knapp at attal@carolina.rr.com.

Fundraising

Motion was made and carried to approve the following fundraisers:

  • July—Pizza Kits—Pam Johnston
  • August—Candy—Sarah Staley
  • September—
  • October—Avon—Anne Dehlin
  • November—Candles—Anne Dehlin

Banners

Lynne Goode is responsible for banners. She will place 1 contract along with a general information sheet in everyone’s folder in about a week. Additional banner contracts will be kept at the back of the folder box. The prices are the same. The cut off date for getting the banner information to Mike at Quick Signs is August 10. In Early September we will hang banners. If you sell a banner, you are required to help hang the banners or you will be assessed a $35.00 fee.

The question was raised about existing banners belonging to persons who have left the gym. It was suggested that we seek renewal of these as a general fund raiser instead of as a lottery as done in the past. The board will discuss this issue and we will present information at next meeting.

Scripts

Libby Wikle takes care of Scripts. We will be placing those orders during the following months:
June, August, October, November, 2x in December, February & April

Please add $1.00 to your order to cover shipping or it will be deducted from your profit.

Orders are due at the General Boosters Club Meeting and placed the next day with the cards being delivered by Thursday or Friday of the same week.

Script order forms are kept in the back of the folder box.

Coaches Corner

Mindy shared much information.

  • Some of the girls’ levels for 2008-2009 are yet to be determined. She will meet with parents individually to discuss. Please set up a time to do so.
  • The schedule will not be known until the end of July into August.
  • The uniforms will be the same next year and maybe the year after.
  • She is working on getting new warm-ups in a unisex, soccer style. The new warm-up will be mandatory next year. She also has a new bag. It doesn’t matter if your daughter carries the backpack or the new bag, but it must be one of them. Bags are $35.00.
  • Camp for the girl’s filled up. She may do a week with Barry.
  • Girl’s Regional Training Camp is in Orlando, Oct. 3-5 weekend.
  • Mindy is available to meet 4:30-5:15pm or after 7:45pm.
  • Mindy is working on some fun ideas for summer—pool trip, tie-dye, etc.

The Candy Meet

The Candy Meet is scheduled for Friday, May 30th.

  • Every team member will begin Candy Meet practice Monday, May 19th.
  • Practice that week will be Mon.—Tues.—Wed.—Thurs. 4:30-8:00.
  • There will be no girls practices Fri.(23rd)—Sat.(24th)—or Mon.(26th).
  • T&T and boys need to check with their coaches regarding Memorial weekend practices.
  • Candy meet practices will resume Tues. (27th)—Wed. (28th)—Thurs. (29th) 4:30-8:00pm.
  • Mindy will put Candy Meet invitation in folders.
  • Mindy will provide pizza. Sarah Staley is compiling a sign-up for donations of other foods and stuff. Please sign-up to bring something on the bulletin board above the sink. The kids really enjoy this meet and we want to make it special for them.
